Chair: Zach (he/him)

Hi, I’m Zach (he/him) 👋, your Club Chairperson for 2025.

My journey into cycling started with a simple commute—a practical decision that quickly turned into something much more meaningful. Pedaling through the city, dodging cars and puddles became part obstacle course, part therapy. It was freedom on two wheels. 🏙️

That buzz from riding didn’t stay confined to the daily grind. I craved more. I joined OutdoorLads for recreational rides and discovered the joy—and challenge—of group cycling. The shared effort, the laughs on the hills, the post-ride snacks… I was hooked.

But I also wanted something more inclusive. A space where I didn’t have to shrink myself or wonder if I’d fit in. That search led me to PrideOut, and when it sadly folded, I knew we needed something lasting. So in 2022, I helped co-found Rainbow Riders—a cycling club built from the ground up to welcome everyone, no matter who they are or how they ride. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Our vision is bold but simple: a vibrant, inclusive cycling scene where everyone feels at home. We’re committed to making space for every kind of cyclist—from total beginners to hill-hungry speedsters—with rides and events that reflect the beautiful diversity of our community.

Because cycling isn’t just about the bike. It’s about the people you meet, the stories you share, and the joy of showing up exactly as you are.

Secretary: Rhi (she/her)

Hi, I’m Rhi (she/her) 👋, your Club Secretary for 2025.

🌟 *Fun Facts about me:* I like to test gravity when I’m out on my bike ✌🏼I used to live in China but COVID-19 meant my visa was suspended, so during the Lockdowns, I decided to earn my PGCE and QTS in English 👩🏻‍🏫 and when I’m not spending hours on my bike, I enjoy being stabbed (piercings and tattoos!)

🥳 *How did I get into cycling:* Like many of us, I started cycling through the pandemic with my girlfriend on a whim! Eventually, this led to me joining the founders of Rainbow Riders 🌈 and wanting to help create an inclusive riding club for those you love to ride, but might not be able to do the massive distances at break neck speeds. I also absolutely love the social side of Rainbow Riders 🌈 and have made some amazing and supportive friends along the way!

🚴 *Cycling Style:* I enjoy getting out on the quiet Cheshire lanes for a pootle or a long distance ride. But I also enjoy throwing myself down MTB trails and perfecting my crashing style 🫡

🏞️ *Favourite ride:* I absolutely LOVE a ride to Tatton Park. This is my go to when I want to get out on the bike! So expect a few of these from me.

💡 *Goal for the Club:* I want Rainbow Riders 🌈 to build up a profile in and around Manchester (and create a kit/brand!)

Treasurer: Bex (she/her)

Hi, I’m Bex (calamity/jane) 👋, your club Treasurer!

🌟 Fun Fact: My house is basically a Brompton museum!

🚴 Cycling Style: Mostly chill riding my Brompton Sometimes one handed while holding a coffee in the other! Love listening to camp music whilst riding. ‘Big bike’ or Brompton I like to pootle along and enjoy the ride/company 🙂

Ride and events co-ordinator: Chris (he/him)

Hi, I’m Chris (he/him) 👋, your Ride Leader & Events Co-ordinator!

🌟 Fun Fact: I used to be an actor pre-pandemic and have performed in over 30 countries.

🚴 Cycling Style: Love a long distance and hope to bikepack this year. Equally enjoy a social and chatty pootle.

💡 Goal for the Club: Raise our profile and expand our membership.
