Welcome to Manchester’s new LGBTQ+ cycle group

Welcome to the Rainbow Riders, find out who we are and what we offer

Who are Rainbow Riders?

Rainbow Riders is an LGBTQ+ cycling club in Great Manchester, UK. We welcome everyone regardless of sexuality, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, age, body shape, the bike you ride or your bike ability. We want Rainbow Riders to be a relaxed and social cycling club and hope to offer rides that suit everyone from easy flat rides to something with leg burning climbs so fair weather cyclists and Zwifting, GCN reading, cycle nerds we are here for you! Most importantly we put on rides.

Whats happened so far?

We led a couple of rides in November, and if you only think success is based on the number of bikes, we’ll have to agree to disagree, the metric is quite clearly coffee and cake! So far the Service Course in Wilmslow gives good cake!

Its Christmas!!!

Love it or loathe it, Christmas is just around the corner, the evenings are dark and the weather is wet, but shake off the winter blues with us on Sunday 11th December on a ride out to Tatton Park

We are having a non bike based Christmas Social in The Cockatoo Lounge, in Manchester’s Gay Village on Thursday 15th December from 7pm so it would be lovely to see you there and have a good time.

Whats coming up?

From January we are going to lead rides on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month. we hope a regular pattern will help people plan ahead and be able to get to some more rides and if the numbers dictate we will try and add more days.

We know there are some great routes to explore out there and while we will do some trips to areas further afield like the Wirral Coast and Buxton or Bakewell, for the most part we want to focus on rides for the LGBTQ+ cycling community in Greater Manchester. so expect some trips to Bury and Ramsbottom as well as Stockport and Mosley

Thanks and see you soon,
Bex, Kevin & Zach
